One of the most crucial problem facing the SouthKordofan is the scarcity of safe drinking water and poor Sanitation that is already having a devastating impact on the already disadvantaged Nubians despite the existence of water agencies that are operating in the region. NCDO resolved to participate through partnership with other agencies in addressing some of these problems through provision of safe water and training the community on hygiene and sanitation matters Presently NCDO is embarking on drilling of boreholes which are fitted with hand pumps and submarsible pumps powered my sola pannels.
NCDO has recently introduced a biosand filter constrcution and distribution in some parts of Western Nuba Mountains.
